These boots were made for walkn'

These photos simply don't do justice to Alfie's passion for walking or his pleasure in moving around on his own. We got home and had a terrible time because Alfie constantly wanted to practise walking but there isn't much space for turning a stroller around indoors. He got angry because we had to keep picking him up and fixing it all so he could head back the way he had come. Luckily, the toy library had a smaller walker toy which he is up and off on every chance he gets.

Visit to North Wales

Alfie did a LOT of walking in North Wales. He eventually decided that hitching a lift around the garden with Grandpa was the smart thing to do.

We recently went to North Wales for about nine days. Grandma and Grandpa got their fix of Alfie and Bert and I had a bit more time to ourselves. Bert spent his time working in the garden for his parents while I lounged around reading. The last weekend, we were joined by our friends, Cas and Juliet. They were good company and great at entertaining Alfie!
There are 2 donkeys at Plas, Charles and Camilla. Alfie was enthralled by them. He went each day to let them out into the field and then to put them away in the late afternoon. Charles didn't know what to make of Alfie, especially when Alfie arrived in his stroller.

On the Set of Breakin' 3

Last few days

Alfie has been very busy since we got back from Ireland. We went to a big band concert in the park with his friend Lottie.

His Godfather, Danny visited, after his cycle trip around the south of England and we went to another park today to do some swimming and eating of ice cream.

Trying to walk

Ireland

We have just arrived back from a trip to Ireland and took quite a few photos. We were very lucky with the weather and Alfie travelled well and did not get sea sick on the ferry despite the rough seas. He loved being around a load of people giving him attention and could not keep his eyes and hands off Edie. The house was superb and we managed to make it to the beach on one day.

It was great to catch up with the other Welches for a week or so and we also made it to Killarney to meet up with Mary and Tadgh who are Johanna's old employers and friends.

Alfie is now trying to walk and he keeps us very busy. He can pull himself up pretty much anywhere and the stair gate went up yesterday immediately after we found him on the first step. He is also making lots of different sounds which makes it seem like he is trying to say something very important.

He is a big fan of dogs and particularly likes it when they lick his feet.

Johanna is pleased to be finished for the summer and we are enjoying all being at home. If you see a wound on my head in any of the photos that is where I got him by a golf ball in Ireland, shocked me quite badly and off to the doctor tomorrow as there appears to be a hole in my skull.
