Bank Holiday Weekend
We have just arrived home after a couple of nights camping on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. We stayed on a farm and Alf enjoyed the ducks, hens, cats, dogs, cows and horses. He also liked the swings, although much of the time was spent complaining to the designated pusher "that's not very fast". Campsite was great, no dogs, no caravans, lots of space and everything very clean.
Alf took to camping very well, sleeping much better the second night. He liked the torches and particularly the head lamp. Was not so sure about camp food, sticking to jam sandwiches and croissants for much of the weekend. Would not even have his marshmallows (or "mishmallows" as he calls them) toasted, preferring to scoff them cold.
Weather was superb and we had a great day out at Trevone Bay just south of Padstow yesterday. Very pretty beach, great sand and rockpools and most importantly a car park right next to the beach. Water was freezing and only managed to get in up to our knees.
Nice to be home, but hoping to go back again this summer.
